How long does someone usually work with a personal trainer?
It’s typical to work with your personal trainer for 6 months or longer.
How many times a week should I train?
It’s recommended you meet with your personal trainer a minimum of 2 times weekly. On the days in between you are strongly encouraged to engage in at least 30 minutes of activity like walking or jogging at a moderate exertion level.
Do I have to get clearance from my doctor before I begin personal fitness training?
As part of your initial consultation we will complete a Health Questionnaire. Clearance from your physician may be required for certain health conditions that are being monitored. I want to partner with you and your doctor to ensure your fitness training is safe and effective.
What kind of equipment/gear do I need?
Comfortable clothes that allow you to move without restriction and a good pair of sneakers are required. Also, make sure you have water and a towel. A yoga mat is a good investment.
I’m interested in taking supplements. Can my trainer help me choose?
Unless your personal trainer is also a licensed nutritionist, they cannot recommend supplements. It is not in their scope of practice. Your personal trainer may help you do some research. However, please speak to your doctor or nutritionist for specific dietary and supplement recommendations.
Do personal trainers carry insurance?
Yes, as a professionally certified trainer I carry liability insurance to protect us both. I am also First Aid and CPR trained.
What if something comes up and I have to cancel my session?
As your personal trainer, if I am unable to keep an appointment for any reason and unable to give you at least 24-hours’ notice, you will receive a free personal-training session. If you are unable to give me at least 24-hours’ notice of cancellation, I require you to make a normal payment. Thank you for your consideration. Note: Please be on time for your session–if you are late the session must still finish on time.
